Attendance Rhythm & Presence Policy
SAFEGUARDING DEVELOPMENTAL INTEGRITY THROUGH RHYTHM AND CONTINUITY
At Prime Montessori Academy, attendance is not a routine expectation — it is a pillar of the child’s developmental integrity. Montessori education unfolds through rhythm, repetition, and the delicate layering of mastery. Each day a child is present strengthens their concentration, social belonging, emotional regulation, and relationship to the prepared environment.
Absence, lateness, or early departures gently fracture this progression and affect not only the child’s individual experience but the harmony of the community.
This Compendium forms part of the Prime Core Enrollment Agreement and establishes the attendance, punctuality, and presence standards governing all enrolled families as a condition of enrollment and continued attendance.
I. Guiding Philosophy
We affirm that:
Children flourish within an unbroken rhythm of presence
The community thrives when each child arrives grounded and ready to engage
Punctuality is an expression of grace, courtesy, and refined character
Consistency protects emotional equilibrium and preserves the Montessori work cycle
Presence is not merely attendance — it is the child’s daily inheritance of order, peace, and possibility.
The Family acknowledges that consistent attendance is essential to authentic Montessori education and that absence, lateness, or early departure may impact both the child’s development and the harmony of the atelier.
The following sections outline the attendance standards that preserve rhythm, continuity, and the integrity of the Montessori work cycle.
Each element exists to support the child’s development and the harmony of the curated atelier.
-
To uphold regulatory accuracy, partnership clarity, and seamless communication, the Academy maintains official attendance systems.
The Family agrees to:
submit daily attendance through the Graceful Attendance Confirmation
report absences through official Academy systems
provide timely and accurate communication regarding illness or extended absence
The Academy maintains official attendance records, including the PrimeCare Management System, which:
serve as the authoritative record of attendance
may be used for administrative, regulatory, and enrollment determinations
Failure to report absences appropriately may result in administrative action.
-
The school day begins at 8:30 a.m.
Students must arrive on time and be fully settled by 8:45 a.m.
Late arrival disrupts the Montessori work cycle.
Latest admittance: 9:45 a.m. (non-negotiable)
Students arriving after this time will not be admitted
No admittance occurs between 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
These limits protect:
the integrity of the Montessori work cycle
classroom stability
developmental continuity
Repeated lateness may result in administrative intervention, restricted entry, or enrollment review.
-
Children may attend a maximum of 8.5–9 hours per day to protect:
neural regulation
emotional grounding
healthy developmental rhythms
The Academy retains discretion in determining appropriate daily attendance within these parameters.
-
The Family agrees to:
maintain consistent, uninterrupted attendance
avoid unnecessary absences, early departures, or schedule disruptions
prioritize the Academy schedule
Frequent or prolonged absences may:
impact developmental progress
disrupt classroom continuity
affect enrollment status and re-enrollment eligibility
-
Absences must be reported through official Academy systems.
Extended or repeated absences may require:
written communication
documentation
administrative review
The Academy reserves the right to determine whether absences meet attendance expectations.
-
The Family acknowledges that:
habitual tardiness disrupts the child’s ability to enter concentration
early departures interrupt the work cycle and classroom rhythm
A pattern of disruption may result in:
required administrative meeting
attendance alignment plan
restriction of entry or dismissal flexibility
enrollment review
-
Attendance consistency is a required condition of enrollment.
A pattern of attendance misalignment may include:
repeated absences
chronic tardiness
frequent early departures
inconsistent attendance patterns
Where such patterns are observed, the Academy may, at its sole discretion:
require an Attendance Alignment Meeting
implement corrective expectations or plans
place the Student on attendance-based probation
initiate enrollment review, including non-renewal or withdrawal
Repeated attendance misalignment may constitute a material breach of enrollment expectations.
-
Notwithstanding the above, the Academy reserves the right to proceed directly to administrative action, including attendance restriction, enrollment review, or withdrawal, where circumstances reasonably warrant such action in the interest of:
the child’s developmental integrity
classroom stability
community harmony
-
Extended absences during the academic cycle are strongly discouraged.
The Family acknowledges that:
Montessori learning cannot be replicated through make-up work
the Academy does not provide adjusted instruction for absences
Attendance gaps remain the responsibility of the Family.
-
Attendance patterns are considered in:
continued enrollment
classroom placement
program participation
re-enrollment decisions
The Academy retains sole discretion in evaluating attendance alignment.
-
The Family acknowledges that:
absence does not alter tuition obligations
no credits, refunds, or adjustments are provided
All financial obligations remain governed by the Prime Core Enrollment Agreement.
XIV. Affirmation of Partnership
By signature confirmation within the Enrollment Compendium, the Family affirms that they:
understand the importance of consistent attendance
agree to uphold the Academy’s daily rhythm
accept attendance as a condition of enrollment
acknowledge that attendance patterns may impact enrollment status
These standards are incorporated into the Enrollment Compendium and are binding upon all enrolled families.
